Over the past few weeks, I have been trying out a pair of Mountain Masochist trail running shoes that Montrail was kind enough to send me. I’ve been running for years, but only semi-recently I have ventured off the pavement on onto the trails. I really like the change of scenery the trail provides and it’s a little easier on the ‘ole knees.
I just gotta say, I love these shoes! They are breathable and lightweight, so much so, they don’t wear heavier like many trail runners. The Mountain Masochist is “out of the box” comfortable needing virtually no break in time. The shoes’ Gryptonite outsole has provided reliable and responsive traction on every surface and every weather condition I’ve put them through. While the Mountain Masochist is made for trial running, it would also be a nice choice for off road walking and hiking. No question, these are great shoes for the Adventurer or anyone who loves the outdoors and is looking for a superior running shoe.
